Pic of the Day

It is a gloomy day out, rain and cold now settles over everything and when I took Lizzie out, it was freezing.  So, I did kind of a darker picture today, with my two favorite colors.

Pic of the day

It is a tad on the dreary side today here in Georgia and so I took an overcast picture of a church in Ireland and I had a bit of fun with it.  I hope you enjoy.

Pic of the Day

Thank you Greg, for the found appreciation for that which I didn't understand

My pic of the day is someone else's art... now this is a picture I took when I saw a Pollack for the first time.  I am one of those millions of people who before visiting a museum and seeing one of these in person for the first time... did not understand.
I am happily converted.  Standing in front of this... was amazing and one of the moments in New York I will cherish forever, the moment I got it.

No, its not just splatter paint, its beautiful.

Thanks to my very creative and artistic friend Greg for showing this to Adam and I.

Photo Of The Day

The Wisconsin Memorial at Andersonville Civil War Prison, Andersonville , Ga 2011

There are some places when you visit them, you can feel the depth of the history of the place....even if it was years and years ago.  I have a deep reverence for the grounds of Andersonville in Georgia.  The grounds, as vast and sparse as they are now in 2011... were at one time filled with the emaciated, starving, and suffering prisoners who were so unfortunate as to have found themselves there in the baking Georgia sun, under the most harsh of conditions.  While the men are long dead...it feels as if their spirits still hover above that place, giving a weight to it.  It is a dark place, but an important one.
